Same issue with the door locks. About 6 months ago the door locks started failing and finally the front passenger side quit working all together, the driver side locking part way and the hatchback intermittent. I fully believe Nissan should recall the cars as this is a safety issue for me. I like to ensure all doors are locked when driving and when parking the vehicle to reduce unwanted guests. When I park the car I check all doors and hatchback prior to leaving the car plus when I get in to drive away I visually look at all doors to ensure they are locked and only hoping the hatchback is locked. The cost for the 2 door locks plus hatchback is $1100. Up to this point I have raved about the Nissan's as I have owned Nissan's since 1986 - perhaps it is time to change back to American cars.

A recall over 1 person's complaint about door locks?
Really?
Do you know how much a recall costs to an automotive manufacturer?
Will the door lock malfunction kill people while driving? (like total brake failure, or exploding tires?)

Things break/malfunction on cars, but believing a recall is in order for your problem is ridiculous.
You should have looked at getting some repair done when the problem first surfaced.
I am also assuming that it's a keyfob locking problem you are having.
Surely the locks still work manually. (I doubt the locks have all seized within 6 months of each other!)
Maybe you need a new battery for the key fob?, being 6 years old now....

:/

As Ozzie stated, recalls are extremely expensive and only are done in extreme cases where 1 in however many cars fails. I don't believe a few people having problems with their door locks really constitutes a recall.... Now, on the other hand, Ford's magical deploying-without-impact airbags IS a safety problem, seeing as it's affecting MILLIONS of F150s, hundreds of which have had airbags already deploy, and countless more that have had the airbag system serviced when the warning light came on.

Now, if you're worried about "Unwanted guests" to the point that you view it as a legitimate SAFETY concern to your well being, maybe where you're living isn't the best area? I don't lock my doors hardly ever in my TT, and the only reason the 2+2 is locked while driving is because it automatically does it. Not once have I ever "needed" the door locks while I was in my own vehicle. Hell, half the time, I don't even lock my doors at night/ at work. Never had anything stolen from any of my cars either. A benefit of living somewhere you don't have to be paranoid about.
