2005 Murano Door Handle Replacement

Hello, I need help replacing the driver's door handle. Any info would be appreciated. I need to know how to take the lock off w/o damaging it, I think that would enable me to insert the new handle. Any suggestions?

FYI: Ihave figured out how to remove the inside panel, and I loosened the screw that holds the lock, but it has a retaining clip that will not let me extract it fully.
