Post

I have a 2005 Maxima that seemed flawless until yesterday. Came home from work (car drove fine) an hour later went to leave to go to my son's soccer game and what do ya know???? The car wouldn't go out of park.... Naturally I googled to see what might cause the issue and came across a video explaining about the brake lights being out. After checking I realized that was the problem did a little more research found out some things that could possibly cause this. Then researched how to bypass the shift lock so I could go to the parts store....... once there I bought some fuses as I noticed the fuse was blown (soon as I pressed the brake) fuse blew again.... so I tried the next thing the brake light switch and again soon as I put my foot on the break the fuse blew again. Today I unplugged the brake lights including the one in the back window put in a new fuse and soon as I applied pressure to brake fuse blew. I have looked over as much wiring as I possibly could without locating a break or grounded out wire starting from the fuse box under the dash all the way to the wires going to my brake lights. I am just at a loss right now and hoping someone could point me in the right direction before my only option is to take it to Nissan or set it on fire lol. Right now I'll take any help I can get TIA....
