Hello everybody

I apparently overheated the brake rotors on my 2005 Maxima - I'm wondering what's the " best cluck for my buck " ???

It appears i can buy ( 4 ) Drilled / Slotted Rotors off of Ebay for around $ 250 delivered - is this a deal ?

I guess i don't know what is and what isn't worth my money ?

Or should i just go stock OEM ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated -

email here or directly to [email protected]

Thanks in advance !

have a great day

I like powerslots. They are durable and stop much better than the OEMs especially with Hawk brake pads.

I think they will cost you around just under $600 for the whole set, but then again, the rotors last about 3-4 sets of pads, so its a trade off.

I was going to buy some slotted rotors off ebay for my wife's Celica without really knowing how good they were, but then again, anything is better than the duralast garbage on there now (I didn't install them).

The stock rotors Suck. DO not buy OEM again if you can keep from it. They do warp very easily esp if you are hard on braking. I bought slotted with Hawk HPS pads. Do not get drilled rotors if you can keep from it. I've seen so many break and the stock size is small to have drilled. I cant remember where i got my rotors maybe from a member, but i do remember only paying 300 and they are doing me good.

you can check out stillen's website. last time i was there they had several choices of rotors/pads. i went with the brembo x-drilled with hawk hps pads and s.s. lines as well. much better braking than oem!

I'm kinda shocked to hear that others have experienced this problem. I had the same problem on my 05 max, and with only 30,000 miles on it. Lucky for me I had warranty and they replaced it. I guess it's one of those things they just couldn't perfect.

You got lucky and got a good dealer. Most dealers will not replace these because its normal wear and tear.

I bought my setup from the maxima.org group deal. They've been great. RTP rotors, Hawk pads and SS lines all for $400 (front and rear)

Where did you purchase the brembo blanks from and what type of pads did you use?

I got my brembo blanks for a warehouse, and I used Akebono pads. I own a shop in Vegas.
