Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced a flaky gas gage (car has 145K km on it). Lately when I fill the tank, it shows full as it should, then during the course of driving it works fine till it reaches the half tank mark (confirmed using the odometer). Then instead of going down as the car is driven the gage starts going back towards full, actually stops at 3/4 full mark and stays there. Sometimes it would go down towards the 1/4 tank mark, but then bounce back up to 3/4 full mark. Currently using the odometer to keep track of approximate fuel level, but would like to fix this myself. I've tried different gas brands (and with/without ethenol), nothing seems to remedy this issue. I checked the TSBs and found nothing. Any possible solutions?

Thanks in advance!

Apparently there are two sensors, one on the left and the other on the right side of the fuel tank. RIght side: main fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter and fuel pump assembly, and the left side: sub fuel level sensor unit. Anyone know which one needs to be replaced?

would this be covered under the warranty for emissions control? i personaly would see if this is under warranty at the dealer before trying to do this... you never know.

if not... from looking at the diagram doesnt look too hard, just a matter to how confortable you are will spilling gas on your self lol.

It would kind of suck if someone flipped a lighted cigarette butt out their window driving by while working with spilled gas :nono:

I've changed a couple fuel filters on other cars... and feeling that cold gasoline on your hand is very weird and yes kinda scary.
