Hi all,

My G35 on occasion will emit about 10 electronic chirps in quick succession when I'm leaving the car. For example, I drive up to the parking space, get out of the car, and as I'm about to shut the door, there is a quick electronic chime of about 10 beeps. Nothing seems wrong with the car, no idiot lights are on (other then the low pressure tire warning as I'm using winter rims without the TPMS). If the tire pressure warning is what is triggering the alarm, I would not expect it to work when I'm leaving the car. Unless it has something to do with security function. (I don't lock the car when in the house garage or when left briefly on my driveway.) Any ideas?

Are you leaving your headlights on?

I get that chime when the tire pressure is low. Also, perhaps the battery in the FOB is dying?

I'm 95% positive the TPMS doesn't give an audible warning, just the light. There is no mention of an audible warning in the manual as far as I can tell.

You get a chime when the tire pressure is low? Lucky you.

If you open the door before you kill the engine you'll get that chime. Also you can get similar one when you you leave any of your lights on.

This alarm occured only during the day time (no lights on). I always shut off the engine before opening the door to leave. Keys are always in my coat pocket. If it was the fob battery, I would expect the alarm each time, not once or twice a week. (Car is used daily.) Will monitor...thanks for the suggestions.

They are mistaken. No such thing exists.

Key FOB battery starting to get low as jmcohen23 said. Thats been my experience. Also, you can get these batteries at SavOn or CVS. No need for the dealer.

here's another possibility:

I got a similar warning chime yesterday. apparently, I did not turn the switch all the way off. next time, try turning the switch just one tick from the left, then leave the car. this should replicate the sound.
