2005 G35 coupe owners i need some answers please

Hi. I am in the process of searching out the perfect car. I have my eyes on a 05 with the 19 inch wheels and auto transmission, too much ny traffic!. No sunroof which i thought was interesting. I saw the car once but cannot see it again until next week and I was wondering if you guys can fill me in on a few questions.

First , I heard this car has problems with stereo dropping out a channel and t was an well known problem. Any truth to this?

Also, is it possible to get the Bose radio without the premium package. I know the dealer can get me the answer but since i saw the car i made the poor sob walk out to the car quite a few times!

Is there any thing i should be aware about as a problem or potential problem?

Anyone here use Blizzaks in the winter or am I taking fate into my hands by driving this in the snow?

Any and all comments would help. Oh, where do i get one of those cool grills!

The G that the autoshop i go to alot, never had problems , im unfamiliar with Blizzaks

The Cool grills you might be talking about could be a JDM Skyline Grill

thanks for the info on everything g i havent even got the car yet and im thinking some minor mods. need to learn out that plenum thing. 300 bucks for better mileage and 8-12 more hp, im in!

well since its an 05, get an MREV2 and maybe the 5\16th spacer ...

also consider pop charger \ z tube , and a good exhaust system ... thats basically all the minor mods that is common.

Sad that i wont be getting the 05 \ 06.. i have to settle with a 03-04 .. unless i can get a great deal on an 05 in a few months while i wait

whats an mrev2 and why is the 05 better than an 04? thanks im a noob

The MREV2 is a redesigned upper intake plenum that increases flow in REV-Up engines. The 05+ G35 has the REV-Up engine. To quote one of our other MODS:

The rev-up motor uses a different intake plenum. It also has variable cam timing on the exhaust cams where the non-rev-up version only has it on the intake cams. The rev-up version revs to 7000 RPM and likely has slightly beefier rods to handle the additional tensile load of the higher RPM.

Its a great car but there are a few things that tic me off. I dont think the premium package is all that great. The bluetooth sucks big time and the bose system isnt up to par. Its decent but my girlfriends bimmer sounds alot better and her bluetooth is alot clearer. (but i can smoke that slow *** 330ci =D) On the good side, the 19's make my car look alot better as does the wing. If i could go back in time, i would drop the premium package and use the extra money for engine goodies. If you cant get the 19s you could always buy rims. Hope this helps.
