I was having new tires installed in a local shop the other day, and was talking to an alignment techncian about the front camber on my stock Coupe. He stated that the front passenger side was out 1/2 percent and his manuals didn't show any camber kit available to corrcet this.

Is this true? I find it quite hard to believe, and if not, who makes the most cost effective soluttion. I've seen some Stillen kits online but $1000 seems steep just to get this car to track properly. Any advice from some of you pros? Thanks in advance!

You just used the keyword "local shop". Take your car to an infiniti or Nissan dealership and see what they say. I am thinking they are trying to make you spend more money than you should. If the wheel alignment exceed $89.99, kiss them good-bye, and find another shop. Except the car was in an accident, I don't know what else would cause such an off-set. Again, I maybe wrong, but I am willing to bet that they are trying to squeeze more money out of you.

Stillen makes some also. A little more pricy than the others.

Is your car lowered? If not, then you should be looking into why the camber is off.

Wow, thanks for the response!

No, the car has not been lowered. Bought brand new in Feb. 06, and never wrecked. With 45,000 miles, I am about to do the third set of new tires, and they're wearing on the inside.

I really like those Cusco A-arms and they look alot cheaper than the Stillens............thanks again. I'll let you know how thery work and post some pics!

i have a G37S and am looking to add some negative camber to the front end to improve handling (i autocross the car and can't install any mods in the class i run in). i just can't accept that we have to install new front support arms to get "any" adjustment. can't a good shop get a 1/2 degree or something out of the stock set up. if not, how would anyone address alignment if it gets out of being perfect or if they change tire/rim sizes?

thanks for your insight.

I just did the alignment on my G35. I always check the illustrations for the procedure before I start. And for our cars there "Is no camber or caster adjustments" for the front end per manufacturer.

Mine G37S sits negative because it is dropped over 1.5", thats probably the only way to do it.

What youre' missing here is that you should determine why the camber is off. Going to aftermarket arms may band-aid the static camber issue, but can cause other issues and/or have poor dynamic camber angles, which can cause more serious problems. I mean, if you want to buy adjustable arms then feel free, but don't look to that as a solution to a camber problem that shouldn't exist. It would be another story if you were correcting camber as a result of lowering the vehicle...

if there is no camber or caster adjustment, what did you have done with the alignment (toe?) and why did you have it done then? is there adjustment on the rear end? I assume that would have significantly less impact than the front, is that correct?

I did it due to tire wear. The only manufaturer adjustment on the front of the G35 is toe. (and my camber is off as well. not my much but some.) And it is not due to any "problem" witht he car.

And the rear was toe and camber adjustments. Which were also out. I'll try to post up the print out of my alignment tonight.

You can take any car right off the truck and the alignmnet will be out. The settings are done on an assembly jig. And every chassic is different. So that jig setting will not be right for all cars.

Perfect example. I work on VW's and Subaru's. Almost every Subaru has severe toe wear by 10k miles. So you can not say that they do alignments at the factory.
