Anyone have specs that compare the 5sp auto VS 6MT for the 2005 model?

Reading some info, I saw the Auto was 280hp while the 6sp was 298. What is the supposed differences? I'd have thought Infiniti would have kept the hp numbers even for the '05 year.

The bumped up the 6mt to 295 and brought all the 5at up to 280. The earlier model 5ats were at 260. I have not seen any numbers yet between the 298 and the 280.

Doesn't the auto with the sport suspension package option get the horsepower bump and LSD which all come standard in the 6MT too?

My understanding is that there were some changes to the intake mani. Also, they made both sets of cams variable instead of just one to pull out the extra 18 HP.

Thanks...

I'm still not sure if I am going to get a auto or manual. Since it will be "The Woman's" car, I don't know if it will be worth thrying to re-teach her to drive a stick again...

I've just been doing some minor research because I'm looking at getting a G35 coupe, which is one of the reasons why I'm on this forum anyway, but I thought I should also mention something.

The base automatic is lighter than the base MT and in addition to that, the MT has 18 more horsepower which you all have talked about up top but nobody mentioned that the auto comes with 10 more lb/ft of torque.

I just thought that I would mention that.

In addition to the above, the sport tuned package gives you the 19" wheels, sport tuned suspension, the LSD, aluminum pedals, and the orage stitching on the steering wheel. Nothing that ups the HP.

Peace.

Interesting discussion...

I am in the market for an 03-04 Coupe, still trying to decide between the auto and the 6MT... Power will definitely be a factor, as will the brake upgrade. Wheels not so much, as they'll be replaced immediately.

No Problem.

Anytime I can share information is a good time. I'm hoping that I can get all the info that I need on this site. So far it seems kinda cool.
