I have recently begun having problems with the alarm going off for no apparent reason. After a bit of troubleshooting I have determined that the alarm system thinks the trunk is opened. I assume there is a defective switch is in the trunk latch assembly, since it has a small electric motor and 4 wires going to it. However, after removing the latch and unscrewing its cover, I fail to see where the switch is. Has someone identified the location/action of the alarm switch that signals the alarm system of an open trunk? Is it in the latch or somewhere else entirely? Not that it matters, but the trunk courtesy lights have been replaced with after market LED units by the car's current primary drivers :)
