My 05 altima has the passenger air bag lit up is ther anywhere I can go to find out how to fix this or diagram of sensor conection under seat

There has been issues with this in the newer model ones as well...you can check the FSM's listed in the Altima General section of this website, or you can take it back to your dealer to have them look at it!

On a 12 hour drive to Colorado, my girlfriend and I figured this out. If nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, the airbag light will turn on indicating that it won't fire in the case of a front end collision. However, if someone sits in the seat, the light turns off and I assume the air bag is armed.

BUT, if the person is not sitting directly on the sensor, the light will turn on like it doesn't sense the person is there. I think the issue is the sensor placement is too far towards the back of the seat so if you slouch, it won't pick up your presence.
