I came across this on Nissan's site today. Maybe I'm late but this sounds kinda interesting. The website claims 250+ hp and a 6 spd manual. Also included: big brakes, sports seats, "performance" exhaust, and 18" wheels.

Sounds like theyre just gonna use the Maxima V6 drivetrain. It makes 265hp (V6 Altima's are still 240hp??)More big things from Nissan!!

Hey there! I just came across this post on the SER Altima. I'm a maintenance tech at the plant in Smyrna, and they are building trial units now, or actually about a month ago is when the first few came through. It has different front and rear fascias, nice rims, and a really nice throaty exhaust for a stock system. No one really disclosed the price yet, but it shouldn't be that much more than an SE model. There's not really that much more money put into the car.......there is some, but not a great deal as to cause it to be too much more money. I'll keep my eyes open. It should be pretty hot.

ina96se, what do you specifcally do at the smyrna plant? I think it would be tight to aid in getting some of the best cars made on the road!

And also....more importantly....

If I email you my resume, can you get it to the right person to get me a job? I've applied numerous times online, but I think they just toss those resumes in the trash.

I'm serious btw. I need a better paying job.

Hey 95sil, I'm in the maintenance department, we are responsible for keeping all of the equipment running....robotics, programmable logic support(computer stuff), and pretty much anything that could be a problem. If the production line stops, someone gets on the two-way, and starts calling for us, and we have to show up in a hurry and see if we can find out what has happened. It's close to 6,000. 00 a minute lost when the line is down.

Hey EZcheese, I know it's very difficult to get on with the company... I assume you are seeing the ads in the local paper where you are? I don't know how far they distribute the ad when it's posted. I would apply on line, and thru the mail. Leave no stone unturned. I am limited to what I can do, as I am not in a management postition....but I must tell you this....you have to reapply each time an ad is posted, because they throw all applications away before each new posting. I will keep my eyes open, and when the next hiring is coming, I'll get in touch with you....if I can get an email address from ya. They also have a 'job line' that you can call to get assistance on filling out your application properly. If the application has mistakes, the state throws them out before Nissan ever gets them.

Hey skwerel, it's good to have neighbors huh? I noticed several days ago that you were in Lebanon, but couldn't figure out how to 'hollar' at ya without creating some kinda crazy post. I just bought a 96se for my daughter....yeah, I'm an old dude....anyway, we like the car. It's been in town here for several years, and belonged to my sister...you may have seen it. It's that wild blue/purple color from the factory. I'm wanting to put some 17s on it because my sister curbed the factory rims to hell. I also used to have an 89 coupe, it was light blue over gray with blue interior....and 5 speed. It was a nice car too. I actually think it rode a little better than this 96. I also used to have an 84 200sx turbo. That is the one I wish I had again. It was red, and 5 speed.....man...bad ***. Been to slammin and jammin ? Gotta run...

I have sent numerous resumes to all Nissan facilities via the Nissan website. I don't really ever see any Nissan ads in local papers, since I am not local to any Nissan facilities.

I've applied for positions in Smyrna, Canton, Detroit, and Phoenix, with no luck. My closest to getting a job was one in Phoenix for a Product Test Engineer at the proving grounds. They called me up the next day and were like "Well, I'd love to fly you out for an interview, you look like an EXCELLENT candidate, you just don't have enough education. Have you considered going for your masters in engineering?"

This was right after I dropped out of my Master's program, due to lack of money :(

Anyway, my email is [email protected]. Or you can always hit the "profile" button under one of my posts and email me that way too.

Hey EZcheese, I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya. Patience is the word here. Feel free to drop me a line anytime. Oh yeah, I clicked on the 'send a private message', and I got a banner that said 'your administrator has disabled private message'. Is that an issue with my computer? I have Norton, and a couple of others and I just wonder if that is causing that problem.

Hey Mr1dr, cool to see another Lebanite. I'm in maintenance in the trim plant. Are you in a warehouse connected to the plant? I know of one that was built not too long ago behind the tire and wheel shop.......on the south end of the plant. It's a really big one. Ya on days or nights? I am one of the vampires. You gotta get rid of that ford man. hehe
