2005 altima gear box and break signaling problem

2005 Nissan Altima

Problem: Intermittently when stopping or parking the car, the auto gear shifter will not go into reverse or park.

I think it has something to do with the brake system signaling that tells the system that the car is has stopped moving or is in park and allows you to shift into reverse or park.

Its definately somthing electrical because I've forced into park a couple of times in order to be able to remove the keys from the ignition. I've started and stopped the engine multiple times but the gear box remains locked. However, if I turn the car off while in park and let it sit for 10 minutes, then start it, everything works fine.

... This sounds like an easy fix. Is it a silonoid or relay I can just replace?
