Hi, I am newb here. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I had changed my front rotors and brakes few months ago without a problem. Yesterday I started to jack up the car as I wanted to change my rear rotors and brakes. Disengaged the E brake to be sure and removed the rear tire. Looking at the rotor I noticed its not really identical to the front rotor. There was a feature between the Lug nuts almost like a giant set screw (retaining screw??). I have never seen this before. Also the new Rotors I bought from Advanced auto parts does not have this feature. The bottom nut of the brake caliper is blocked by a bar going at an angle. Can I just use a open socket wrench to removed the brake caliper?

thank you in advance

That video was a great help! I was attempting to do a rear brake job on my girlfriend's mom's car and had a hell of a time with the rear rotors. I was about to give up when I decided to check the board here. (I'm a regular on the M45 and QX4 boards). Funny, it was right at the top, I didn't even have to search!

Great tactic. Very much appreciated.

Hi,thank you so much for posting the video. I tinkered for an hour and a half before giving up. I will try that trick with the jack to take the rotor off.
