Hello all. Allow me to first apologize for the length of this post, especially being my first.

I am having a fuel issue with a 2005 Altima 3.5 SE. It was my father’s car. He passed almost three years ago, and I’m just getting around to selling the car. It's been sitting for almost three years. Due to the brutal winter we had in the Midwest I removed the battery so it wouldn't freeze. I installed a new battery about a month ago. The car will crank, but it won’t fire. I couldn't hear the fuel pump priming. I removed the backseat and still couldn't hear anything from the pump. I checked resistance between pin #1 and #3 on the pump. It shows 2.2 ohm. I found info somewhere that mentioned it should be .5-5.0 ohm. I checked power at the fuel pump harness. I’m not entirely sure which harness wires carry what, as I can’t find a schematic. The black (pin #1, smaller of the two black wires) and pink wires have 5.5V in the ignition “on” position, but drop while in the start position. Voltage does not completely drop to -0-. It drops to around 1.5V. I swapped the fuel pump and high beam relays with no result, so the pump replay should be okay. The anti-theft dash light does not flash while cranking. I think that leaves me with camshaft or crank sensors.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried tapping on the fuel pump? My '05 2.5 Altima had a fuel pump issue similar to this, ie: crank, but no start and no fuel pump noises....by accident I found that, if I pounded on the drivers back seat, it would start. Not sure what caused it, may have been electrical or perhaps the pump had an internal issue. I eventually replaced the pump and that fixed the problem.
You also mentioned, the car having been sitting for some months or years? After a year of sitting, I would drain the fuel tank and flush the fuel system with fresh fuel and a new filter. Seems that alot of gas these days has a high percentage of ethanol, this tends to cause the fuel to go bad faster.
