If it's in Dallas, around the last week of July would be perfect, because I plan on being there anyways ;p

Well, who the heck else is gonna front the nearly $6K for a track, insurance, deposits, etc.?I'm MORE than happy to bill it as a Zilvia/NICO/FA Nationals - if and when they step up and agree to work together. I don't need the glory, I just want to see a HUGE and successful turnout.

The counterpoint to that is if any group has any bias AGAINST 240sx.org, then that's their issue, and they need to get over it.

Until they get over that, it'll never change.
Well, I planned the 2002 event WITHOUT fronting $6k. In fact I fronted almost no money with the exception of shirts and printing programs...

It's not about spending a huge amount of money, it's about resourceful management of your funds. If you have no funds like me, then you use your contacts with other groups and piggyback.

For 2002, the Friday Speedzone event had a clause where I can cancel and get 100% refund if done 14 days prior to the event. Saturday the lot @ Nissan NA was free. Sunday I rented space from Tommy @ SpeedTrialUSA and he said if I gave him 2 weeks notice he won't charge me a dime.

So... honestly it's not about one fronting money. It's just about one group of people working towards an event WITHOUT being biased towards any single forum.

Atlantic City > * Especially in July. Not to hot and not to cold and you can go in the Ocean. Beach is free and you cna also go gamble away your MOD money or even make some MOD money. Hotel rooms and such shouldn't be a problem. Cruise the AC strip and go for long drives to all the SHore points. Maybe even go to NYC.

OK -

Well, then Alex, I've made myself perfectly clear - I have NO biases towards or against any specific forum (hell, most of us are on a bunch of different forums anyway).

If you can figure out a way to get Texas Motor Speedway for no front money, that'd be great. But most venues with attraction (track, strip, drift course) want $. Track personnel, insurance, EMS, fire, electric and water bills all have to be paid.

Either way, let me throw my hat in the ring and say i'd be glad to assist in any way i can with planning a national meet. In the same vein, I'd be VERY appreciative of your assistance with the Dallas event, as I don't wish to exclude ANY group (hence the all-nissan invite).

Perhaps this is something we should take to email or AIM. I'm easy to find ([email protected]) or gregatnico.
