2004Sentra thumping sound when breaking

2004 Sentra with 10,000 miles makes thumping sound when brakes applied. rotors replaced, tires OK. What might be the problem?

Since your car is fairly new the only things I could think of would be flat spots on your tires from locking up your brakes or skidding sideways or that your rotors are out of round and need to be turned. Could be related to the spindle/hub (whatever they're called).

I know this is a dumb question but have you made sure your lug nuts are tight?
