I have a 2004 Murano with a toasted #3 cylinder. I assume due to the new coil pack and cats underneath. I have access to a cheap 2012 Quest VQ35DE with harness. Looking at the manual, the Quest engine only has intake variable timing, and the solenoid looks the same, even though its located on the timing cover instead of the head. Perhaps I can stretch the harness or buy a couple of male connectors and make extensions. The cam sensors are in a different spot so that's a concern. Will the throttle body swap? Any other technical hurdles?

Background on me: I wrench, I have zero problem doing a swap. Just wanna know if this is more trouble than its worth or even technically viable.

Also I plan on using the CVT oil pan and crankshaft sensor from my current engine.

Update. This wont work without custom trigger wheels or a cam signal inverter. :(
