2004 sunroof doesn't work

Hey all, just wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me. I just bought a 2004 maxima SL and discovered the sunroof doesn't slide back. It will tilt up and down ok but as far as sliding back it doesn't do anything. Could it be a fuse?? I'm thinking not because it still tilts up and down. Or do i have to do something special to make it move back? The switch is a multi position switch that moves forward and back. It didn't come with the owners manual so i'm not sure what i have to do

Probably a problem with the track or drive motor.You may be able to fix it by cleaning the track. If you can hear it "trying" to slide, it may just be obstructed.

i figured it out. The car had be sitting for a while and the battery had gone down and i checked on the service manual and it had mentioned you had to reset the sunroof. Which i did and everything is working well now

Hey! That just hapen to my 2002 maxima, but I don't have the manual. So, I need the procedure to reset the sunroof. Who may help[

I beleive you take the sun roof slidy button and slide it all the way forward ,then HOLD in the toggle rocker switch until it lines up again.Happens all the time on mine.Takes a bit of practice,go try! Do this with the car OFF but the ignition ON.
