2004+ sentra SE-R motor recall

all i know is some bolts have been getting loose and entering the piston, its happened twice with my dads carhe got his car in 2004 its an se-r spec V but they wont repair or give him a new motor because his vin is just a few months early so he is starting a lawsute to try and get a new motor..this is probily known around here but i thought i would post it just incase..

Well known issue, it is actually the butterfly screws on the intake manifold that come loose and fall into the cylinders. I really don't see nissan having a leg to stand on when it occurs, no matter what year. The QR was not changed from year to year. I know some local that has an 02 and had the same thing happen. Nissan replaced his motor, no questions asked.

strange because they wouldnt help my dad and its happened on 2 cyclenders!! so he sent a letter to the CEO and is waiting to hear back, if they still wont do anything then he will take action, tho he has no money as he is going thru another devorce.. and somehow women always comeout on time moeny wise...

This just happened to my 2k3 this last weekend. Nissan's putting a new motor and cat without any fight.

Try taking it to another dealer. Sounds like the one you took it to was an a$$.

It happened to my 02. Unfortunately for me it happened in 12/04, 2 weeks after I got married and while we were trying to move into our new house.
