Hi,

I have a problem with my 2004 Sentra 1.8S. The battery drains over night, even though it is just 2-3 months old. I have been to Advance Autoparts to have my battery tested and also the alternator. According to their test, the battery is fine, and the alternator as well.

I have now started to try and find the short that causes the draining. I have found that a small current (2.16mA) is flowing at 9-10V through fusible link b (80A) in the lower left corner of the Fuse/Fusible link box in the engine compartment. By trying electrical componects, I found out, that it is in the circuit of the A/C system.

I have looked around but not found any mapping for the fusible links. I would like to know what else is covered by those links and if it is safe to drive with the fusible link removed until I can fix what causes the draining.

Any hints will be greatly appretiated.

Sven

I've managed to trace the issue further by taking out fuses... now it's narrowed down to fuse 12 in the under-dash compartment.

Any ideas? I cannot really see what systems got disabled... But at least my battery doesn't drain anymore :)

svgmuc,

Did you resolve this issue?
Also when you removed fuse 12, did your AC continue to work?
