2004 Sentra 1.8 idle

My 04 Sentra with auto trans starts fine but the high idle never comes down until it is put into gear. After that it idles just fine, in and out of gear. Ideas would be appreciated.

sounds like a idle air volume learn needs to be performed. on that model you should have an electronic throttle not a cable operated throttle. the idle air volume relearn should fix it but you need a consult-2 to do this.
