2004 qx56 dashboard light malfunction

I have a 2004 qx56 and the dashboard goes completely black only when the lights are put into auto or on. any suggestions on what this could be , or how to go about fixing it?

replace the cluster is your only recourse. the cluster is not something that can be repaired on. fleabay has some second hand ones avail, or check your local salvage yard.
