Hey all,Just noticed a problem with my 2004 QX56 ...it seems that when my stereo is in the radio or DVD mode, the CDs I have loaded in the CD player are playing, although the sound is not audible. So for example, if I've been listening to the radio and decide to switch to a CD and so, I push the CD button, a CD starts playing. OK ..this is normal. Where I noticed a problem was when I switched back to the radio or the DVD player for several minutes, then went back to the CD player, the song I left off with was no longer playing ...it was a song further down on the track list of the CD or in some cases, the next CD was already playing. I also noticed that when I switch to the CD mode, the song plays instantly (no delay time); however, before I noticed this issue and pushed the CD mode, it would take a few seconds for the CD to start playing. So it's apparent to me that the CDs are playing all the time while the truck is running. I just noticed this problem over the weekend but I suspect this has been happening ever since I swaped out my bad IPDM for a new one about a month ago. I performed the IPDM swap myself and disconnected the battery when doing the swap. The truck has run perfectly since I replaced the IPDM but I'm wondering if doing this somehow affected the setting on the CD player.
I guess it's not a big deal that the CDs are always playing but it has me wondering if this will cause premature failure of the CD player or my CDs by running all the time. Has anyone had this problem?? If so, is there a way to get it back to normal? I just searched through the owner's manual and didn't come across anything suggesting that this a function of the player that can be controlled.
Thanks!Steve
