2004 qx56 AC intermittently working

i have a 2004 qx56 with 80k miles on it. recently with both the heat and when AC is on it intermittently blows out the air. it will blow for 2 minutes then would stop for 5 minutes. It doesn't matter if i am driving on highway or stopped at light, it does it whenever it wants. anyone have any ideas?
