Hey there

I posted on another forum but thought I would ask here also.

I'm thinking of buying a clean 2004 QX56 4x4. All the options. I know to stay away from year 1 vehicles but there is literally no 2005-2006 under 70k miles anywhere near this in price or even near me, they are all 30% more.

Previous forum brought up the brakes and that it was made on the same assembly line as the Nissans (Okay no japanese build quality I guess was that point of bringing that up).

If it stops well, doesnt shake or stutter, no steering wheel vibrations, is it safe to assume in the last 10 years it has had different then oem rotors put on it?

Besides the issue with the rotors and the brake bias delta, which is paid for by infiniti anyways, is there anything else look for?

Does Inifiniti have the ability to see records of other inifiniti dealers? To see if any TSB's or recalls have been done on the truck.

I really like the truck and its everything I would look for normally.

yeah i posted over there also.

and i will reiterate: getting that model year is NOT recommended. if, if if if.... those issues i mentioned in the other forum are documented and are more likely to happen than not-- i dont care if the car has 2 miles on it.

that year model is known across the interwebs as not the best out of the gate. i recommend you find at least a 2006 model.

pull carfax on the car you are looking at. take the vin and head to any corporate infiniti dealer and have them look up any TSBs on that year.

head over to x dot infiniti help dot com , look up the model year and there you will see all the tsb's issued.
