Ok, I managed to nurse 35K miles out of the front brakes on my 2004 Quest. I feel fortunate compared to other stories I have heard. The rotors were turned twice; at 24K and 30K due to warping.

I replaced the rear brake pads at 32K about the same time as the tires.

I am wanting to know what other people may have found to be quality replacement brake pads and rotors to mitigate the brake system problems. Hopefully I can use the info to make a better decision for my front brakes.

thanks!

A problem with the late model Quests with warping rotors has to do with the rotor itself and Ceramic brake pads. The pads under heavy braking don't fade like that of a semi metallic or organic, they heat up to point of damaging the rotor.

I've swapped to a NAPA premium rotor but a standard semi metallic pad and that seemed to do the trick. I still now have a slight shimmy but I never did do the rears so those are next.

edit: I have a 2004 Quest SE
