I have a 2004 Quest and my problem is when I apply the brakes while going down hill my steering wheel shakes like crazy. I have replaced the rotors and pads on the front and it still does the same thing, however when I hit the pedal hard it doesn't really shake at all. It makes a loud kind of thumping sound on the drivers side while the wheel is shaking but other than that no shakes whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm at my wits end with this and it is just driving me crazy.

Have you tried bleeding the brake lines to check to see if there may possibly be air in the line?
How does the master cylinder look?
How old are the calipers?

air in the line would get a spongy brake pedal...

you may have loose suspension or steering parts then if you ruled out the pads and rotors

These front ends can drive you to drink.

- First of all, if you have 80K+ miles on it, you probably need to have the front struts (and spring - one assembly) replaced (I did and it bought me an extra inch on tire clearance). This way you are sure the nose isn't diving down when you brake.
- Secondly, you probably have some slop in the front end depending upon miles and where you live (good roads vs. bad roads), meaning the lower control arm probably has a bad bushing or two. These control arms get loose...um...all the time...on these vans.
- Third, have your trusted mechanic make sure there is no slop in your steering (column, etc.) Make sure your front end is solid before you attack the...
- ..brakes. The Quest brakes are not...good. You should NOT have steering wheel shakes after a brake job though - it should go right back to the mechanic. They missed something. See my other post on brakes.
