Pretty sure my shift lock solenoid is bad. I have to manually release the shift with a screw driver and I dont have any brake light issues. All lights in rear work when braking on having foot on brake. Does someone have a part number and a place to get them cheaply? I was told dealer still wants close to 200 bucks for these.

hey folks, I went through the post listed and didnt see any mention of a part number or a cheap place to purchase them. It sounds like that guy did a hack a toothbrush method that didnt work long. maybe not even a few days.

Any hack is going to result in your being able to put it into gear while mashing on the gas instead of the brakes......

I am one for saving $$$, but I would look in the junkyards or dealer for correct parts as that is a safety system..

Nice part about starting in the J/Y is that you get to learn how to get to it without worring about messing anything up

Provide your VIN and I can provide an exact OEM part number.

Did you verify the relay next to the shifter is operating properly? Replace it with another relay of the same color - I think it should be blue, so you can use the fog light relay or the A/C relay from the driver's side relay box under the hood.
