I've looked everywhere for parts and just can't find the parts I need or find them for outrageous amounts of money.

I need a button to open and close my left passenger's automatic sliding door (the button in the rear by the door that automatically opens the door), which is the same exact button as the right side, but can't find it anywhere. Additionally, I'm looking for a center bezzle dash replacement part (the assembly area where all of the controls for the radio and climate are located as mine is cracked in a few different places), possibly the climate control buttons as well but just the knobs as they're worn quite a bit, a rear hatch handle cover (mine is coming apart and I think it's warped), and vent replacement covers for the back (I only need one as it's missing just a slot but it's enough that they don't all connect with each other...so you can't exactly angle this one in any particular way and it just hangs in one position).

Does anyone have any advice on where to find these parts? I'm thinking about going to a few junk yards to see if I can get some parts, but if I can order them online, that would be preferred.

Thank you in advanced!

A junkyard will be your best source if you are trying to keep it cheap. However, that center dash cover ALWAYS cracks and used ones don't usually look too good becasue Nissan goofed up on the paint they used (tan ones are usually worse than the black ones) - I think people aren't careful when they remove it. I had bought a new one online and had it hydro-wrapped in black (long story - I still have to post pictures). People always have to remove it because everyone has trouble with their radios - it's a vicious cycle and it eventually cracks. When you replace it, keep the old one for reference so you'll know how to remove the new one if you ever have to again. That switch (junkyard), climate/radio control (ebay or junkyard), rear hatch handle (junkyard), and vents (junkyard) are obtainable. Remember, there were quite a few 04-06's made in the first place and they are not now high $ vehicles. Parts are readily available and usually not bad. That is..unless you are trying to find orange or black interior parts for the crazy orange interiors. There weren't that many of those and Nissan has stopped production on a lot of that stuff.

Thank you. I figured I would find most of the parts at a junkyard but that center cover is something I'm probably just going to have to shell out for.

Do you know what could be causing slight hesitation from the transmission going from Park to Reverse/Drive? I think the same thing that's causing that is also causing the hard shifting between first and second gear I'm feeling. It's like a jolt. Only at lower speeds and RPMs. When I press on the gas pedal while driving I hear a sound that almost sounds like a bass-boosted Facebook notification pop. Very very slight hesitation, small clank that is hard to hear and feel but it's there. It feels like it's engaging hard for some reason.

Have you experienced anything similar?

Sorry - just saw this one. I'm a bad person to comment on trans issues as I'm just not versed on these transmissions. Also, given that they are generally rock solid - unlike the VW Eurovan transmissions I was used to dealing with - there isn't a whole lot in the way of write-ups on these (both 4 and 5 speed versions). My dealer contacts as well as my Aamco contacts both state these are transmissions they don't mess with a whole lot - they're durable. For your issue, I would probably just run it over to a dependable Aamco and let them take a look (or your local trusted shop - I have just always preferred a shop that does ONLY transmissions, but what do I know)

I came over from the nightmare VW world, where a new trans was $5.5K and up IF you could find someone to mess with it. This is one of the reasons I came over to the Quest. Worst case if my trans is absolutely shot, I can get a rebuilt one almost anywhere from $2.5K to $3.5K and not really worry about it. I have a very skewed perspective on vehicle repair after dealing with VW's nonsense...
