2004 Nissan Quest - rear knocking noise

I have a 2004 Nissan Quest w 96K and a i have a problem. It sounds like a loud boom boom sound when I drive. It is coming from the driver side rear. Anyone know what it might be?

If it sounds hollow, it may be your exhaust system. Jiggle your tail pipe around and see if you can re-create the noise that way. Other than that, the only thing that comes to mind is your suspension. Perhaps a shock came lose or something. If you can, squeeze underneath and start wiggling stuff back there to see if you can re-create the noise.

I had a knocking (rattle) coming from rear drivers side. Sounded like it was coming from the shock area so after a two man attempt to locate, by bouncing the car, driving around and listening to different areas, it was discovered it was coming from the third row seat. Right where it locks into the side frame. Glad it wasn't serious. Hope this is your problem.
