Hi all, I'm Joe. Wife and I still got our 2004 Quest, after 11 years, still going strong minus a few maintenance repairs, just spent the weekend changing valve cover gaskets. Daunting but fun teardown and rebuild.

So onto my question. Given that the stock 2004 quest CD changer seems to be made out of unicorn bones, and costs anywhere from 300-600 dollars. Has anyone had any luck frankenstein-ing an aftermarket radio in place of the original head unit?

Also Cabin lights not working. Have no idea how to reach the BCM. All fuses are fine though. I know this has been touched on in several other threads, but has anyone actually found a legit fix for either issue? Thanks!

I can't say for an 04, but replacing the radio in our 95 wasn't too bad. The rear speakers didn't work until I plugged the back seat volume controls back in.

I have no clue about your cabin lights issue, sorry!

Ok did a ton of digging around the interwebs, turns out the BCM is under the Triangular Storage box above the steering column. Now there is only phillips style screw that I can find, does this box just pop out on snap tabs like the lid cluster, and most of the other paneling, or is there more under the dash I need to disconnect. I am so close to getting my cabin lights back but don't want to crack the storage box just to do it! HELP!!!
