Hello folks I have a 2004 Nissan Quest that has turned off on me while driving or would not drive when pressing the gas pedal almost like it's had transmission problems. The check engine light came on and I got the code read and it came back with a camshaft sensor and transmission speed sensor code. So I went and purchased both camshaft sensor and transmission speed sensor and also the crankshaft sensor for peace of mind to prevent future problems. After replacing all the sensors. I went to go crank the car and it doesn't want to stay on now and it will only stay on if I give it a little bit of gas right after cranking it. It also cranks and stays on if I hold the brake pedal which is so weird. Plus the rpms are around 500 rpms as well. I am at a lost of words and have no clue what is causing this problem if anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome aboard! First things to check: clogged fuel filter, a weak fuel pump.

Open the fuel door / cap, and have someone turn the key while you listen for the fuel pump priming?

If not, check for bad fuses. If fuses are good, then check for voltage at the wiring to the pump when the key is on.

If the pump is priming, check fuel pressure at the fuel rail with key on (you can rent a fuel pressure gauge at most auto parts stores). If fuel pressure is normal, check it as you try to start the engine. If pressure is low, you might want to replace the fuel filter, and then test the regulator. If the regulator checks out good, and the filter doesn't fix the problem, it is probably time for a new fuel pump.

Also: Pull a couple spark plugs. Let us know what they look like. A complete lack of compression can cause the codes you mentioned, as well as a no-start condition. Has it ever overheated?

Where is the fuel pump located and can I access it from inside the car or do I have to drop the tank to get to it?

I know you most likely changed both camshaft sensors right. Sorry just checking.

Here ya go, GF - This will help a bunch as well:

www.nissanservicemanual.com Should have the one for your Quest in there.

Fuel pump will be in-tank. Most likely accessible from the rear cargo area, under the spare. The FSM will confirm exact location.
