My Nissan pathfinder 04, smell of gas when its turned on and off... I park outside and smell it everyday... I noticed it smells most strong (when I'm standing with the hood up looking at engine) in the upper left corner... I'm not very mechanically sound :( any ideas/help? And thank you in advance for your time.

Welcome aboard!

Fuel smell issues are difficult to trace, but not impossible. You don't have to be mechanically adept to start checking. However, if you can smell it, you can ignite it... and fuel fumes aren't anything to ignore.

A couple questions first: What part of the country are you in? Is rust an issue? Are you comfortable with crawling under the car with a flashlight? Do you have a good relationship with a local shop? Let's start there, and that'll help me give you a better answer. :)

It can be anywhere. I'd start by checking the injector o-rings, then trace the fuel lines backwards (there are 2) to the firewall - look for cracking or damp spots. My bet would be the injectors are seeping a little - common after 10 years or so.
