Hi, im new to the Maxima forum. I have a 04' Maxima SL. I have 105,000 miles on the vehicle. The problem is I have had the front struts replaced because it was knocking around when I went over cracks or pot holes in the road. I had everything replaced with KYB struts, Mounts and bearing.. All KYB products. It was great for two days. Soon after when ever I turned right to left it would make this dry squeaking noise the whole time, driving or sitting still. I drove it for a few days hoping it would cure the problem but no!! So I them replaced all again. The car drove great for a week, now the same problem again, only this time the right side is knocking around again like the strut mount has gone out. PLEASE HELP.. I Need this problem solved ASAP..

I haven't heard of anyone having problems with that swap, I'd take it back to the place that installed it or call KYB for a consult...

engine mount makes more sense to me b/c it happens when you are driving or sitting still...and when you move your steering wheel from side to side you put lateral pressure on the engine mounts. Check the engine mount on the passenger side next to the wheel well...just pull back the little rubber cover, your mount is probably collapsed. if it's not that one, check the mount next to the radiator.

my passenger mount collapsed completely:

and so did my front mount:

if you find nothing wrong with your engine mounts, check the isolator caps for your struts...this is what your isolator cap looks like:

make sure all the suspension nuts and bolts are tight, and keep us posted.
