I'm having a problem with my 2004 Nissan Maxima that I'm hoping someone out there will have an answer for! A couple of years ago I put one of those cheap HP modules in my Maxima, it goes in line on one of the wires off the MAF, and all it does is fool your engine into thinking it is getting cold air all the time, which increases the HP. Anyway I put that in and couldn't get the check engine light to go off, so I took it out and soldered the wires back, no big deal. Every since then I have had a problem with those wires coming apart. Now the problem is that my engine is cutting out when it gets up to about 200 degrees. It runs fine until it gets hot and it is intermittant, but it cuts out in high heat conditions. Can anyone help me?

Well all you had to do to get rid of the engine check is reset the computer. example dissconnecting the batteries and reconnecting it.

Check engine light will only stay off if there isn't a problem. With that module in-line the computer always thought there was a problem. I tried resetting the light, and it just kept coming back on!
