2004 nissan maxima transmission SL 4 speed 5:57 PM 4/19/2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the third transmission they have replaced. When going over 65mph, the transmission slips and goes all the way to redline. It will not shift properly. I also got a check engine light. Also when going into reverse, it shifts really hard and I get a loud bang and it goes into gear.My Question is is there a tsb on this and what is causing this problem?and what can they (nissan) do to solve this?

plaese help............................

ok if your problems were exactly the same every time i would have to question their decision to put in yet a third trans. Although this may look like a trans issue it could be a horsepower issue from the engine control, like the A/F meter, tpe in the throttle motor assembly or something along those lines. It is possible each time your car was in a different tech worked on it and came to the conclusion the trans was the problem and none of them knew it was a return visit. My suggestion to you is to ask to speak with the tech working on the car next and inform him this is your third trans, and in a inquizitive manner ask if tech line is involved. that might get the ball rollin on finding your problem. It will also start a case on your car.

To my knowledge there is no TSB on this issue at this time.
