I have an '04 Murano with just under 60,000 km's. Rencently I noticed a noise that sounds like a motor running. I hear it when the car is idling or when I step on the gas.

The dealership told me that it is the motor mount making the noise and it is normal. When I asked why it is a new noise, they had no response.

My concern it the warranty will run out soon and if there is a problem, I want it fixed under warranty.

Has anyone heard of this before? Is it normal behaviour for a Murano?

The Murano comes with liquid filled motor mounts. The noise, if they told you it was a mount, is from the pump that fills the mount.

I had a 2003 Murano and after a couple of years the motor mounts started making a "ziiit" ziiit" "ziiit" sound more and more frequently. At first the dealer tried to tell me it was the CVT but finally figured out the motor mount problem. They replaced them under warranty.Today my 2007 Murano with only 2500km on it is making the same weird sound.Especially annoying when going through the McDonalds drive-thru and the sound echos off a wall.Back to the dealer and again talked to the mechanic who found the same problem. So now my new car will have to be pulled apart! You would think Nissan would make some engineering improvements in this area after 4 years? (The mechanic just shook his head)Anyway the 2007 does have better gas mileage - about 32 mpg on the highway compared to the 25 I got with the 2003 and I really do like to drive the car.
