2004 maxima w/manual trans. p0021 and p1135

Past weekend service engine light came on.... went to autozone and got 2 error codes p0021 and p1135. Also, at the same time. I have a load rattle on passenger side of engine. Sounds like a chain rattling. Car shifts into all gears with no problem and no problem starting car. Has anyone had this problem does anyone know what to do.. could it be the timing chain? looking for a mechanic in my part of Delaware with no success. and Nissan Service center wants almost 300.00 just to look at it.

Both of those errors are related to CVTC (variable timing control). P0031 for the IVT valve for bank 2 , P1135 is for the IVT control circuit. IVT stands for intake variable timing, by the way. Basically, there's something wrong with the variable timing system for bank 1. Bank 1 is closest to the firewall, bank 2 is closest to the radiator.
