2004 maxima Headlight Problem-Please help??

Ok...the right front headlight is out on our 04 maxima. I tried replacing the bulb and that wasn't the problem, so I took it to the dealer and they said it was the headlight switch because that side wasn't getting power...well they replaced it and that didn't fix it so now they say its the headlight controller which is REALLY expensive and that they can't test the bulb to see if I need one. Have you guys had this problem? DO these controllers go bad, what should I do, I have another mechanic that says to let him check it and he says that you can check the bulb or check to see if its getting power, I am really confused and dont' like for my wife to drive with only one headlight, please help!!

Moved it over here because it'll have a better shot at having someone knowing the problem as I've never seen it.
