Having two issues with my 04 M45:

1) The tire pressure warning light comes on after a period of driving. Tires are fine - and it resets when I turn the car off. Any idea why it's doing this and how to fix?
2) Trunk has water in the spare tire well after car wash and/or very heavy rain. Can't tell where it's coming in but it doesn't seem like the trunk lid as the carpet remains dry. Wondering if anyone has seen this and whether it's a common thing that can be fixed?

Thanks All!

Mark

I'd encourage you to split your issues into 2 different threads to reduce the chances of something getting lost in the discussion of another.

It also helps get the right help and calls attention to the problem immediately.
For example, you don't want non-Y34 owners skipping over the topic if they could otherwise contribute info on the TPMS issue or the water intrusion.

Tire pressure
If you go to INFO then TIRE PRESSURE and instead of numbers all you see are asterisks, then your batteries are dead and to date the only way I know to solve it is to replace the sensors entirely.
Or you could choose to ignore it every time the light comes on 30 minutes after you turn the car on. Use a manual gauge to verify your pressures and you should be fine.
If you choose to replace them, you can find options within the forum. Search for "Y34 TPMS", "TPMS 2003" or "2004" etc and those keywords will guide you.

Here's a sample of threads I've contributed in:
1. topic617785.html?hilit=TPMS&sid=2d4a8e4 ... 8#p6755646
2. topic610688.html?hilit=TPMS&sid=2d4a8e4 ... 002a291ee8

Others not Y34 specific but with useful info

It might not be the sensor batteries, if the sensors just were never "paired" to the car it will do that as well. The first link ed linked to has my experiences and solution.

Thanks all - appreciate the responses here. I will split the topics next time - still trying to troubleshoot the leak.

So does that mean you got the tpms sorted out?

I have not seen that issue with the water in the trunk, so good luck finding the problem
