Ahoy!

My first post as proud M45 owner is.....trunk struts. Anyone else have an issue with the auto trunk release not functioning well - possibly due to the added weight of the wing/spoiler stopping the truck strut from opening the trunk (and actually weighing it down so it shuts again)? Solutions: new struts? simple strut adjustment? remove wing?!?

Thanks folks!

You likely need new struts. 2004 is quite old at this point...

Thanks, although I'm proud of my low mileage find - less than 40,000 miles!!

Yes, it does happen often to these cars. Here is one link from a successful member: post6631769.html

I bought mine from eBay with a lifetime warranty. The brand is probably Tuffsupport. I have a spoiler too. The new set was definitely more responsive, but I'll tell you that they still move slower in the winter.
