Not too long after I bought this car I accidentally scraped one of the rims on a curb. I was shocked at the damage to the finish. Since then I have done it a few more times. My tires do not have the bead that protect the rims.

Is their a repair that can be done to these rims? They were really not bad looking as they came from the factory. I just hate to spend the money on new rims and tires with rim protection beads if I don't need to.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,Depending on the level of damage, many Infiniti dealers offer wheel refinishing services. Pictures would help greatly. Many other places offer refinishing as well.M.L

you should probably set your mirror to tilt down when parking near curbs...this feature is made exactly for this reason!

I live in snow country. Can't see the curbs all the time. Too much snow hiding them. Its now spring and I want my M looking good.

Any suggestions besides mirror resetting??? I don't think my 2004 has that option anyway and even if it did it would not have helped. I was not backing up.

If repairing is not a good option.........please give me some names of good rims. At times I run this car at consistent speeds over 100MPH for hours at a time. I need good rims and tires that won't fail me.

When pushing 100+ the last thing I want on my mind is rim or tire failure.

Thanks.

I would not go to the dealer, they will sublet the job to a wheel guy anyway and just put their profit in the bank. Look in your phone book and look up in the automotive section, you may find something by looking at "wheels" Cheers

Thanks. I was pretty much thinking the same way. Any recommendations on Rim Maker's. I have looked at a ton of rims. But with load ratings, set-offs, etc., I am not sure I trust my local mechanic's advice. He just does not to seem to be on the top of his game. At least not with this car.

What I am looking for is safety first ones and then looks. Who makes the best of the best.........???? Style I can hunt down myself.

Karl.
