mac, one installation approach is when the seat is R & R'd because sliding in from the "outside" as you say, doesn't work , and if the amp can take the confinement( and not be MORE susceptible to overtemp), seat is DROPPED DOWN onto place. Another "possible" tactic is getting a little more headroom under seat by shimming seat up , say an inch maybe enough to FURTHER clear in the aforementioned method.By the way Fosgate has some (their high end) class AB , D for sub , made low-profile and with superior custom heatsinking, where reviews vouch for their COOL running and NOT going into thermal shutdown when really"pushed" ! A/C may keep underseat cool? But dual exhaust may heat floorboards? Trunk may be even hottest area ? Tip - get an amp with at leat 30% more power/headroom -than you think "they" think you think you need! And maybe stick a thermometer under seat , and in boot/trunk , wherever your considering sticking that amp.
