The KA24DE was produced all the way until 2004 in the Nissan Xterra and Frontier. Has anyone ever swapped one of those newer engines into a 240sx? I been here for a couple years and never seen anything about it.

Wow.. that's interestingI guess it would be the same since it's the same engine blockReason why I haven't seen it I guess is cause it would be more expensive and harder to find a salvage Xterra or Frontier...

i would think they would have switched to an aluminum block in the last few years of it? Plus i am sure the head design would be way different even the way it would bolt on.

has anyone seen the actual underhood setup of those KA's?

like, weird manifolds and stuff. especially the intake manifold, with the TB facing straight upwards.

its weird stuff.

Not really, I'm not sure about the Xterras, but when you read about most 510 owners swapping in a KA, it's the Frontier block. There's a company that makes a complete dry sump kit for the Mexican blocks. There's another thread where I've outlined some of the difference that I know of. There could be more though, I'm not sure.

i love my KA24de..allthou its japanese...after all the miles and shi-ty mechanix workin on it...it's still at factory specs ( meshurements) all bearings are still standard size..what a block..takes a beating and keeps going...only thing really holding this block back is the half balance..and the ****t-y intake many!...id rather have a ka anyday..than an SR...thats just me i guess.

I think the SR's are overrated. It is just a more expensive, less powerful RB25 or even a KAT for the price. SR's should only be installed if you are going full JDM Silvia or Sil-eighty in my opinion.

add a T-5 to a T-7 if ya can find one under 5k and you have a 500 to 700hp animal with the ka24de..and it can hold back the monster too!
