Whats up G35 fans. Looking to start pulling more HP out of my g35. Was wondering where to start, would prefer to start with lesser expensive options first but would love to hear opinions and where the biggest bang for the buck is. Appreciate you

What is your end goal? If you want lots of power I would invest directly up to a TT or SC solution. Depends on the condition, mileage and maintenance your car has seen as well.

End goal would be more power for sure. Its been an excelllent car for me, strong engine, but approaching the 100k mark.

Well I would do the Intake first, then hit the exhaust. 5/16 Motordyne Spacer works great for older Gs. Then a decent CAI (I loved my R2C). Cat-back exhaust would be next...tons of choices depending on how much you want to spend. Finally, high-flow cats and engine tuning. If you want more power than that, you'll need to go FI.

Check out the G-FAQ page for more info.

Cool man, I did the intake already, I had to use K&N's CA certified cold air because of emissions. I suppose i'll go ahead and do the heads all the way back. Is there going to be a big difference in name brand as far as quality and power?

I would not worry much about headers. Do the motordyne spacer, high-flow cats and catback exhaust. Then look for a ECU tuner.

Below is a quick vid that briefly shows the tunerzstore.com 2004 G35 taking off from a stop. He has the R2C intake, motordyne spacer, Hypertech Max Energy Controller, G37 Y pipe, G35 coupe mid pipe and HKS axle back exhaust.

Camera car is my '08 with R2C intakes, invidia catalytic converters and Invidia catback. The Camaro and my G both got bit via traction control in that vid

5/16 spacer is best bang for your buck... if you do nothing else do a 5/16 spacer.

then z-tube with aftermarket box filter of your choice... (i say go dry element)

then exhaust

then tune.

some will debate... but a good set of grounding wires (that ground the ECU and transmission) does wonders for the auto G35

I need to do the grounding wires one day. Maybe that will be a winter project.
