I'm thinking about getting a g35x with 80-90,000 miles. I would be getting rid of my 2004 330i. I get about 23 around town and 32mpg at 60mph highway driving. I drive pretty conservatively but getting on it while accelerating and passing, occasionally. What would I get for mileage?

Well I don't know where you got the expert from but I do carefully keep track of my MPG

So at the last fillup at 145163 miles I've used 6080.178 gallons almost all of it regular. Dividing 145163 by 6080.178 gallons gives me an average 23.87 MPG since December 31st 2005 when I purchased my G35

That's pretty good. Is that highway or city? You must drive light-footed.

Pretty much all highway. 50mi each way to work. NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway

Oh, well in that case I guess it's not too good. If I drove almost all highway in my '04 330i I would be getting 30mpg.

The G35X seems to average around 17-18 in all city driving and around 23 on the highway from what I have seen. Some have been lower and some higher, but nothing really drastically different. If gas mileage is a big concern for you, which it soudns like it is, the 6MT is the better option. 6 gears couple with better overdrive for gas mileage. Most people get 27-30 mpg at around 70-75 with the 6MT

I don't do a lot of highway driving but on the weekends I drive 1 1/2 hours which is 55mph most of the way which is almost ideal for good gas mileage. Full-on highway driving seems to use more fuel because of the higher speeds. During the week I do mostly around town which is 15-20 minutes to work so mileage is low as expected.

Sorry I forgot that I had to have the lower control arms replaced last October at 127579 miles
