2004 G35 sedan windshield wiper issues

Just joined the forum today so that I could get some help. My wipers started acting up a few months back. When I would start my car they would come on for no reason and run for a few minutes and then stop. The wiper switch was off when it was doing this. It has since stopped doing that but now the wipers only work in the high position. The washer fluid will still squirt from the arm but the arms don't move. I have to manually try to stop the wipers in the down position or they will stop in the middle of the windshield if I turn them from hi back down to one of the other settings. I checked the fuses over the weekend but didn't find any blown. I have a fsm but haven't had time to figure anything out. I was hoping someone had experienced this issue and could point me in the right direction.
