My wife's 2004 G35 Sedan has been a pretty good car overall, but the electronics on the car seem to have some gremlins.
I don't know if the radio and nav system are related, but the radio will randomly turn itself off and recently the navigation system started taking longer to calculate routes. Today my wife tells me that the DVD drive in the dash started making strange noises and the system would get stuck on "calculating" when plotting routes. After a few mins she decided to hit cancel to try again and gets the message "disc error or dvd version is not correct." We did upgrade the dvd software, but it has been over a year since that was done without problems.
I've done some searching and do know that there was a TSB about this issue and that some other people have had the same problem, but I've yet to find any specifics that I could use to track down a replacement DVD ROM.
Does anyone know a part number for the DVD ROM itself or any place that sells them?
If anyone who has had this problem wants to chime in with info it would be appreciated. Thanks for the help NICO.
