Hi,I recently bought a used 04 G35 coupe from a private seller. I had not even reached home after purchasing the car that the drive side window started to act up. I had rolled it all the way down and when i tried to close the window, it would not come up. I tried it 10 times and finally took it to the mechanic. He changed the motor and it costed me $350 for the motor and the labor cost. How often does the window problem occur? Has anybody else encountered it?I thought Infinity was a reliable car with low maintenance cost? Is is worth to keep the car or sell it?Please helpThanks

Welcome to NICO!

Most likely the window problem isn't a big deal...the motor may need to be reset. Search the forum for the topic as it's a common question.

Don't worry about it, it's not like it's totalled or something, just a window.

The G35 was on Motor Trends 10 best cars list for nearly every year it's been in production. The VQ35 has won several engine awards over the last 15 years I believe.

I do not agree with your assesment, but there is always the chance you got the lemon... Take it back to the seller and tell him you want him to pay for the window? I would tell you to go yourself, but hopefully the seller is understanding of your situation, Good luck.

Welcome to Nico.

The window motor is a common problem on 350z on the early models. I think some early G35 models had the same problems. If you replaced it, it should not be a problem in the future. I would keep the receipt.

or you can just clean the motor... i had the same problem and was told to replace the window motor, but when i opened up the motor and cleaned it ( excess grease from the gears gets in there that it messes up the contact between the circuit ) everything is fine... 2 years now and no problems...

av8or I had to buy a actuator because the lock was not was not working. Right after I installed it the dam window stopped wiorking. Is the window motor that you cleaned located right in the middle of the window or is it the actuator that I changed for my locks? How did you clean it?
